Exploring Dent Pulling Procedures

Hey everyone, my name is Ty Baker. I would like to discuss the different ways auto body workers pull dents. The dent pulling process often makes damaged body panels look like new in an instant. Suction based dent pullers are most commonly used, especially on fiberglass panels. However, body repair experts have pullers that screw into or weld onto the damaged vehicle panels. From there, the pros carefully tug the material back into shape. I hope you will learn about this process to help you understand how your vehicle is repaired after a collision. Knowing how the experts approach the job will help you stay stress free throughout the procedure. Thank you for coming by my website about pulling dents out of automotive panels. Please come back soon.

3 Common Misconceptions About Door Dents

by Jill Robinson

If you are currently faced with a dented car door, make sure you don't fall for these common misconceptions about fixing a dented door on a vehicle.

1st Misconception:  You Can Fix The Any Little Door Dent With Dry Ice

There are numerous articles online that will tell you all about how you can use a little heat combined with a little dry ice to force that dent on your door to pop itself right back out.

What most of these articles fail to tell you is that there is a good chance that not only will the dent still be there after you try this method, but the damage may increase. Applying extreme heat and cold to the dent on your door can cause the metal to buckle, leaving you with a bigger issue than you started with.

Additionally, the application of heat and dry ice could cause damage to your vehicle's paint job. If you try the dry ice dent repair method on your door, you could end up needing to do major repair damage to your door and you could end up needed to repaint your door as well.

2nd Misconception:  You'll Have To Replace The Entire Door Panel

On the flip side of the first misconception, many individuals believe if you have a few large dents in your door, you are going to have to replace the entire panel. This misconception is also not true.

More than likely the auto body shop you take your vehicle to will be able to easily fix the dent on your door. They will probably remove the inside of your door panel in order to gain access to the metal frame. Then, they will use specialized tools to gently work out the dent in your door.

3rd Misconception: It Is Really Expensive To Repair A Dent In Your Door

Finally, many individuals wrongly assume that all dent repair is going to be extremely expensive. If you only have a dent in your door, their is a good chance that the dent repair is not going to break your wallet.

Since it is not a pressing issue to fix, you can take your time and find a repair shop that will charge you a price you can afford for the work. Make sure you ask about all the possible different repair options; certain repair methods could save you a few dollars.

If you have a dent in your door panel, don't try to fix it yourself. A professional auto body shop (such as Mach 1 Body Shop Inc) can work out the dent in your door in a matter of hours, without causing any additional damage to your vehicle.
